COVID-19: Dr Bryan Betty says change in mindset needed with Omicron
Tea for two 2022. 2. 19. 18:36It is time for a change in the mindset when it comes to Covid, says Dr Bryan Betty, who is medical director of Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners.
He told Checkpoint he has been supportive of the approach to Covid-19 but the situation in the pandemic had changed rapidly, and New Zealand's stance should do too.
On Thursday, police estimated more than 400 cars, vans and campervans were ensconced in several streets alongside Parliament and today that estimate grew to 800.
Business and community leaders have been calling for an end to the blockade, saying it was adding stress to nearby residents and users.
People are still moving around Wellington and coming into the city despite the protest at Parliament being well into its second week.
Traffic and public transport data reveal little discernible change during the protest.
