조니 미첼의 첫 앨범이다. Mitchell had written songs that were hits for other artists (e.g., "Both Sides Now" and "Chelsea Morning" by Judy Collins and Dave Van Ronk, "Eastern Rain" by Fairport Convention, "Urge for Going" and "The Circle Game" by Tom Rush), but none of those songs were recorded for her debut.

본인의 앨범을 발표하기 전에 이미 다른 가수들에게 준 곡들이 많이 알려져 있는 상태였는데, 이 유명한 곡들을 본인의 버전으로 다시 수록할 수도 있었을텐데 그러지 않았다는 것은 상당한 호기로움과 자신감이 있음을 보여준다. 하지만, 신곡들로만 편성해서 그랬는지, 첫 앨범에선 그닥 좋은 곡이 있는 것 같지는 않았다.

이전 앨범들보다 확실히 서정성이 생긴 것 같다. Blue 앨범 바로 전 작품이라 그런지, River의 분위기가 나는 곡들이 꽤 많은 것 같은 생각도 들고...아무튼 듣기 편한 곡들이 많다.

일반적인 팝송과는 다르게 멜로딕한 것만은 아니지만, 수록곡들 하나하나가 정말 아름다운 앨범이다. 기존의 노래들과는 많이 다른 느낌을 주는데, All I Want와 River는 정말 좋은 곡이다.

게리무어가 Colosseum II에서 편곡했었던 Down To You의 원곡이 있다. 게리무어의 Down To You를 들어보면, 창작보다도 편곡이 더 중요한 경우도 있겠다는 생각이 든다. 원석을 잘 다듬어서 곡을 눈부시게 만들었음을 알 수 있다.
